DSSOLVR - Holy Shirt - Double IPA - 8.2% ABV - 16 oz Can
WE LOVE Calusa Brewing! Mostly @CalusaJason, but @TheCraftCulture is def cool, too (also - we’re afraid he’s gonna beat us up if we don’t mention him). This is the first of two collabs we did with our little sweeties from the South, so keep your eyes peeled for a future release! For “The Holy Shirt”, we split the difference on the Calusa and DSSOLVR approaches to DIPA, and we’re very excited with this little experiment! Brewed with a base of River Bend Malt 2-Row, along with a very hefty dose of White and Flaked Wheat for extra body. Then, we took a page from the Calusa book and hit it with some old-school hops on the hot side: Centennial and Cascade. The first dry-hop was with more Centennial and Cascade. The second dry-hop was with even more Centennial. BUT THE THIRD DRY-HOP was pummeled with Ella and Mosaic Cryo for that EXTRA fruity-tooty, hoppy, juicy, resinous kick. This seriously looks more like a solid than a liquid. So yes: there is haze, and yes...you’re gonna love it. Notes of icky, sticky, drippy, resinous slices of Ruby Red Grapefruit and Mandarin Orange, Pineapple wedges, dried Mango and Blueberry, and of course...a fat bag of kushy-kush-kush. We also get this weird note of cutting a hole in your shirt to let your nipple hang out while asking strangers in a packed bar in Nashville for directions. Weird, but accurate.
